I changed two blown capacitors and three others just in case, and the flashing and clicking were still there so as suggested on youtube I shorted pins 5 and 6 on the eeprom with a very small screwdriver and the led stopped flashing and the tv clicked only when I pressed on the remote as it should, but there was no picture so don't know if something else has gone but shorting the eeprom did stop the led flashing and the repeated clicking. It was also suggested replacing the eeprom but this requires soldering 8 tiny contacts which looks very difficult for a novice solderer.

Steven, the only thing I can think is maybe you have the caps the wrong ways. Double check on that and also search for more blown caps. It could be a leaking cap or its bulging from the bottom part of the capacitor.

I have a sanyo dp 50747 which is a samsung p50hb004a with a 850hw-yb03 power board. The tv clicks once, then the screen lights up (video 1) for 1 sec, then the rainbow screen, for .half a second, then clicks off. I checked all 6 fuses all are fine. Non of my caps are bulged. How else can i check if the caps are bad. thanks.

My Samsung just shit the bed also. The first day it blinked for a very long time before I finally unplugged the set, expecting to resent any black box problem, then the next tie I attempted to turn the TV on, the red light just continued to blink. Now the third day, the red light isn't on and the TV is dead. Is it possible, that this is related to a satelite remote. I notice that many people have either Direct TV or Dish. COuld that exacerbate the problem?
