Samsung LCD and other brands of LCD tv sets had been having problems with their power supply. Normally it is cause by a blown low quality capacitors on your power supply board. On my previous post, about on how to fix a Samsung power supply, knowing the symptoms will help you see if it’s an easy fix or not. Below are what the other Samsung LCD owners are experiencing with their LCD TV sets.
- Several Clicking Sound on power up.
- Delay power up, from 1 min to 10 mins +
- After power up vertical lines appears (reboots normally fix it)
- Blurry images after power up. (reboots normally fix it)
- (Worst Symptom) It starts right after your warranty expires!
From the comments on my previous post, it seems like Samsung finally “kinda” acknowledge the power supply problem. Their are some LCD TV owners that got their warranty extended by Samsung. This might require a lot of time on the phone but if your not up to the task of fixing your own LCD you can go this route.

@Thomas, I don’t know what country you’re from but the best place to get your capacitors would be online. Just Google it and you’ll see some online stores that carry those products for you. Google search box is located on top of this website. try typing capacitors.

we are having strange clicking noises on our samsung lcd 52 inch which is 1 year 2 months old. It was just ticking for 1 to 3 minutes then turning on and now just ticks and wont turn on at all. So we are trying to save some money and fix ourselves but are not sure what capacitors we need to do the job. We went ahead and took the back off the tv and found the capacitors which have black electrolytes coming out of the top on some. Please email us back if anyone knows where to buy new capacitors or can help us out in any way.

@Angela: One of our reader had bought his capacitors from this website: partsexpress.com. Just search the kind of capacitor your looking for on the search bar. I have no personal experience with this website but you can sure try it out.

I am having the same problem as Angela brought my 50 lcd a year and half ago now it will not come on at all. Thank you Chriss, I call samsung told them the problem they knew it was out of warranty said they had the part I would need cost 179.00 plus shipping cost.I will check out radio shack and parts web site for the capacitors

I have a Samsung LN-T4042H. I hear the clicking sound when I turn the TV on and off. Does that mean I have a bad power supply and it will crap out soon? For as far as I remember, the clicking sound been there for as long as I can remember. I don’t mind the clicking sound as long as it doesn’t crap out on me.
