Twitter is the fastest growing social networking site. It has increase its traffic more than 300% in a years time. As it gains its popularity so as the security risks. This is the common thing a hacker could do is to get your username and password, it’s called “Phishing” (Phishings definition). If you have tried to use twitter’s app, you probably notice already that for an application to work it needs your username and password. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that all apps are bad or all don’t need your username and password. All I am saying is that you just have to be careful on where and on what apps you can trust. Here’s a good place to start finding good applications for twitter.
Let me name couple applications I use and trust; First is TweetDeck, its an adobe air program that makes your twitter experience easy and exciting. TweetDesk‘s concept is straight up, it gives you a good layout of your twitter feeds, replies (@name), and DM(Direct Message), everything is in one screen. My second choice is Twitterberry, since I’m a blackberry user, it seems to be that this is the best app for my blackberry to receive and send out my twitter updates.
On how technolog change our lives and how fast we get our information, it just makes it really easy to be phished by hackers with all this changes. Learn more on Twitter the new Word Of Mouth 2.0
