I replaced 2 of my 2200uf 10v 105c with 1000uf 35v 85c, the same as QN on the March 27th post..That was all i could find at radio shack. They work fine. First time soldering and it was no big deal, kinda reminded me of wood shop class back in the day using the soldering tool. The total cost of all equip including tool = $30..Great info on this page, thank you all who have contributed...(Also if anyone more gifted in the electronic field have any comments on the 2200uf for 1000uf swap please send them my way, not sure how they will perform over time).

LN52A540P2FXZC - Just this morning. Now off to work with a peace of mind knowing that I won't necessarily have to throw this TV out. Thanks. I'll go to my friend with a soldering iron and see if he can help out. Where's the best place to get the new capacitors?

I've got a 3 year old Samsung LE40 LCD TV, and it's having this problem.

If you're in the UK, call Samsung and explain it, they'll organise a free repair. They admitted to me that it's "a known fault", and they're getting a local repair company to come out and do it for free :)

Thanks to this site though, if it weren't for you I would've had to pay out over £100 for a fix from Comet!

I just want to commend the person that put this information on the web!!
I have a 48inch Samsung that I was quoted 400.00 to get this problem fixed at my local repair shop with a 2-6 week waiting period. I followed this very easy do it yourself instructional post and $3.00 later I had my very nice LCD Television working better than when I originally purchased it!!
I replaced my 10V 1000uf 105ºC capacitors with 25V ones and in my opinion my television seems to react faster and smoother in regards to channel changing etc. When I told my wife it is faster she laughed at me pretty hard and told me it must be a man thing?
None the less....a job well done

Thanks again!!

My March 2008 LNT5271F has the problem too. First time I contacted Samsung, 2 months after the warranty expired, they feigned ignorance of the problem said I would have to pay for repairs. Obviously this is MAJOR problem and I am going to file a complaint against them.

For me the problem started with a couple of extra clicks at start up and progressively got worse. Two days ago I was up to a half an hour of wait time for the TV to turn on. Yesterday after an hour it was not turning on, so I decided it was time to tackle the problem. I opened up the TV and sure enough 4 of the capacitors on the power supply were bulged and had a wee bit of ooze. I pulled them out and now I just need to track down the parts. I'm hoping a local shop carries them, otherwise my TV will be out of commission for a couple of weeks if I have to mail order the parts.

I had the turn on tv 8 times click. I opened it up and found 4 capacitors that were bulged, two where discolored on top. I found a localt TV shop and got 4 1000µf 25v 105C caps. I installed them, put the LCD back together and now it works like it did when I first pulled it out the box. Total cost for the repair $35. I had to buy the caps ($3 a piece, I got an extra one just in case), soldering iron and flux.

I also had the problem yesterday , i replace the 4 capacitor, 1000µf 10volts, but TV will not turn on, so changed the capacitor to a higher voltage 1000µf 35volts, now working fine.
