I believe if you use a different "class" to that div it should work. Can you link me the project you have? Thanks!

The defective capacitors are made by a Korean firm that copied, incorrectly, the formula used by a Japanese company for the electrolyte inside the high frequency capacitors used in a switching power supply. The bulge is due to the buildup of hydrogen gas which will eventually cause the capacitor to burst.

Hi, Thank you so much for the post, this is one of the only one of these effects that works in IE. I have a question, I want to add a second effect like this but with different opacity settings i.e. my first one on my page is 0.7 to 1 opacity, now I want to add another image but with 0.3 to 0.8 opacity, I just created a second JavaScript and a second class and it works in Chrome but not IE - any advice? Thanks again! Will share when it's finished :)

Quality electrolytic capacitors typically last 15-20 years, sometimes even longer. I just replaced the filter caps from my 1970's era guitar amp about 5 yrs ago. You are a victim of Chinese planned obsolescence. Just lookup "bad chinese caps" on the Internet. This is a well-documented phenomenon from almost anything made in China from 1999-2007.

Have a Samsung lcd tv model LA46M81BDX. Same problems. TV started by not displaying DTV channels without turn off/turn on power. That worked for a few months. Then tv started to turn itself on at random - day/night. Then finally the clicking relay and no power up. Removed the back cover which was quite easy and exposed power board. Found the two low voltage electrolytic caps (2200uF) had bulged. Cost less than $5 to fix. Average soldering skills needed. Was prepared to toss the tv out at one stage.
